One Day Installations

system test is performed

We complete 99% of our installations in one day, so you don't have to live with the stress of having an ongoing construction project in your home.

For a typical residential installation, our team consists of 3 to 4 workers - two electricians, a gas pipe installer and a helper. Before leaving, the lead installer goes over the entire installation plans and site photos with the crew, to ensure that everyone is prepared, and all materials and tools are available. The crew arrives at roughly 8am, and gets right to work.

We install your new backup generator in a convenient, clean and straight forward process. One group will be unloading and placing the generator outside, the other will be inside the home, preparing to install your new Automatic Transfer Switch, which is what negotiates between the utility supply of power and the generator supply (called an "open transition switch").

Electric circuits which are to be backed up by the generator are transferred into the new sub panel. For whole house generators, this step is avoided and instead, the entire existing panel is backed up by the Automatic Transfer Switch.

The gas line which will feed the generator is installed, and painted to protect the pipe from corrosion, and all connections are made from the electric panel inside to the generator outside.

Once the installation is complete, the lead installer will go over the entire system with you to make sure you have no further questions. We will perform a power outage test to ensure the system is completely operational and demonstrate this to you.

Lastly, we process the paperwork on the installation at our office, and your warranty is activated with the manufacturer. We prepare a permanent service file in our system for recording the history on your equipment, and mail you our Preventive Maintenance Program Options for keeping the whole backup power system running smoothly and dependably, ensuring a long service life.

Now you're ready with real power outage protection!
